Iveta Nagyova<\/strong>, is the President of the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) 2020-2024. She is the Head of the Department of Social and Behavioural Medicine and a Senior Research Leader at Pavol Jozef Safarik University in Kosice, Slovakia (UPJS). She is also a member of several advisory groups at WHO and WHO\/Europe; including the WHO Technical Advisory Group on Behavioural Insights and Sciences for Health, WHO\/Europe\u2019s Regional Director\u2019s Advisory Council on Innovation for Noncommunicable Diseases, and the European Advisory Committee on Health Research (EACHR). Her research interests are in biobehavioural and psychosocial innovations in chronic condition prevention and management, non-pharmacological interventions, behaviour change, improvements in functional status and quality of life in patients with a chronic disease and their implications for integrated care. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Didier Jourdan<\/strong>, is full Professor at the Univerity of Clermont Auvergne and the Co-Chair Holder of the UNESCO Chair \u201cGlobal Health and Education\u201d and Head of the WHO Collaborating Centre for \u201cResearch in Education and Health\u201d which are focused on knowledge production and sharing from an intersectoral perspective. He is also a Governing Board member of UNESCO IITE. He is the former Director of the Prevention and Health Promotion Division of the French National Public Health Agency. He has formally held positions as Director of the Graduate School of Teaching and Education (ESPE), Head of the Centre for lifelong learning and Vice-President of Blaise Pascal University. In addition, he held the position as President of the \u201cPrevention, Education and Health Promotion\u201d Commission of the French High Council for Public Health and President of the Network \u201cUniversities for training in health education\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Catherine Jenkins<\/strong>, is Vice President of the EUPHA Health Literacy Section. She has a BA(Hons) from the University of Oxford, a PgCert in Information Science from City, University of London, and she has a PhD from London South Bank University (LSBU). She teaches health literacy and health promotion to Occupational Therapy students, and public health masterclasses to public health practitioners. She also helps coordinate the planning and delivery of masterclasses to support public health practitioners towards UKPHR registration. She is a UKPHR-registered Public Health Practitioner. Her research interests include critical health literacy, involving children and young people in public health research, and settings-based health promotion. She is a member of LSBU’s Population Health and Prevention Research group.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Yongjie Yon<\/strong>, is Vice President of the EUPHA Health Ageing Section. He leads the Ageing and Health program for WHO Europe as a Technical Officer in the Policy and Governance for Health Through the Life-Course unit at the WHO Regional Office for Europe in Copenhagen, Denmark. Holding a Ph.D. in Gerontology from the University of Southern California, United States, Dr. Yon was a Doctoral Fellow with the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. His extensive research and policy portfolio specifically focus on health and public health policies, with a strong emphasis on health and active longevity. He has published in leading academic journals, covering diverse topics such as ageism, abuse of older persons, age-friendly environments, child maltreatment, intergenerational relations, oral health, housing, road traffic injuries, and health disparities. Before joining WHO, Dr. Yon served as a Policy Analyst on ageing policies for the Federal Government of Canada.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Eric Breton<\/strong>, is the President of the EUPHA Health Promotion Section. He is professor of health promotion at the EHESP School of public health. Before settling in France, he acquired a broad international experience in research in Canada, Australia and the United Arab Emirates. His main research interests focus on policy advocacy strategies in the prevention of NCDs, evaluation of complex community-based interventions, and on local capacity building strategies for health and equity. He is an affiliated researcher of the UNESCO Chair Global Health & Education<\/em>, and sits on different national and regional expert groups. In 2020, he published with three other editors the second edition of the first health promotion handbook in French, a publication that has mobilized contributions from 40 authors from 6 countries.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Goof Buijs<\/strong>, is the manager of UNESCO Chair \/ WHO Collaborating Centre Global Health & Education. From 2019 he is director of Global Health & Education Consultancy. His field of expertise is bringing health and education together. He is an experienced networker, expert in creating and leading international projects focused on prevention and youth, innovator, trainer and facilitator of events and conferences. He supports cooperation among people, focusing on everyone\u2019s talents and uniqueness.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Universal access to good and affordable health care is a major aspect that contributes to healthy individuals and societies. In addition, we are exposed to many (amenable) factors that impact our health – positively and negatively – along our life course. From the first crucial two years in healthy development to potential decline in functioning and health at a later age – there are many opportunities to prevent negative health outcomes and encourage positive health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can we encourage innovative and sustainable solutions for our health systems? How can politics drive equity in access to care and health promotion that leaves no one behind? How can we channel a \u2018continuum lifespan\u2019 approach?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speakers from the UNESCO Chair Global Health & Education, EUPHA Health Literacy Section, EUPHA Health Promotion Section and EUPHA Healthy Ageing section will address these questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
