On 10 December 2020 from 14.00-15.00 CET, the interactive webinar: Education as a \u201csocial vaccine\u201d against COVID-19 will take place. The webinar is part of the \u0633\u0631\u06cc \u0648\u0628\u06cc\u0646\u0627\u0631 \u0647\u0627\u06cc \u06a9\u0631\u0633\u06cc \u062c\u0647\u0627\u0646\u06cc \u0633\u0644\u0627\u0645\u062a \u0648 \u0622\u0645\u0648\u0632\u0634<\/a> and organised by the UNESCO Chair Global Health & Education<\/a> in collaboration with CHAIN<\/a> (Centre for Global Health Inequalities Research), EuroHealthNet<\/a> \u0648 Newcastle University<\/a>. The webinar will be held in English.<\/p>\n

Historically, pandemics have been experienced unequally with higher rates of infection and mortality among lower educated people, particularly in more socially unequal countries. Emerging evidence suggests that these inequalities are being mirrored today in the COVID-19 pandemic. Both then and now, these inequalities have emerged through the syndemic nature of COVID-19 \u2014 as it interacts with and exacerbates existing social inequalities in chronic disease and the social determinants of health.<\/p>\n

During this webinar the experts: Professor Terje Andreas Eikemo<\/strong>, Professor of Sociology, Centre for Global Health Inequalities Research (CHAIN), Dept of Sociology and Political Science, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway, Professor Clare Bambra<\/strong>, Professor of Public Health, Population Health Sciences Institute, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Newcastle University, United Kingdom and Caroline Costongs<\/strong>, Director of EuroHealthNet, Belgium will address the following questions :<\/p>\n

  2. Why is COVID-19 in fact a syndemic pandemic?<\/li>\n
