From October 2022, he will participate in a series of webinars on the decolonisation of knowledge in health promotion. The aim will be to deepen the beginnings of reflection that we presented at an international conference organised by the IUHPE in June 2022 in Montreal, a conference in which we represented the Chair. Since 2019, he has been involved in promoting the activities of the Chair, particularly during teaching and research activities in the field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Obrillant Damus<\/em> <em>collabore avec la Chaire autour des projets de publication sur la promotion de la sant\u00e9 et les modalit\u00e9s d\u2019une alliance constructive entre les \u00e9pist\u00e9mologies du Sud et celles du Nord. A partir d\u2019octobre 2022, il participera \u00e0 une s\u00e9rie de webinaires sur la d\u00e9colonisation des savoirs en promotion de la sant\u00e9. Il s\u2019agira d\u2019approfondir les pr\u00e9mices de r\u00e9flexion que nous avons pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es lors d\u2019une conf\u00e9rence internationale organis\u00e9e par l\u2019IUHPE en juin 2022 \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al, conf\u00e9rence au sein de laquelle nous avons repr\u00e9sent\u00e9 la Chaire. Depuis 2019, il participe \u00e0 la promotion des activit\u00e9s de cette derni\u00e8re notamment lors des activit\u00e9s d\u2019enseignement et de recherche sur le terrain.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">National \/ Territorial Representative of the UNESCO Chair<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Obrillant Damus is a full professor at the State University of Haiti. He is also an associate professor at the University of Sherbrooke-Qu\u00e9bec. He is a member of the supervisory committee of doctoral students at the Centre for Contemporary Religious Studies at the University of Sherbrooke. He holds a master\u2019s degree in education (specialising in lifelong learning), a master\u2019s degree in language sciences, a doctorate in socio-anthropology, etc. His research interests include disability, solidarity, regenerative and restorative pedagogy, global consciousness education, traditional childbirth, rape of women, breastfeeding, Creole medicine, etc. He is author and co-author of many publications some of which have been selected and published by UNESCO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obrillant Damus is currently a visiting professor at Universit\u00e9 Laval. He receives funding from the Fonds de recherche du Qu\u00e9bec (FRQ) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). His mission is to teach and pursue his research activities on women in the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since July 2023, he has been taking part in the M\u00e9moires de guerre et construction p\u00e9renne de la paix (ACE-EPIC) programme, under the direction of Ren\u00e9e Dickason, a professor at Rennes 2 University. In November 2024, he will be welcomed at Rennes 2 University as the first guest professor on the Dr Denis Mukwege International Chair on rape and violence memory. His application has been accepted by the scientific interest group (GIS) Institut des Am\u00e9riques de Rennes, IDA-Rennes, which manages the Chair of Americas funded by Universit\u00e9 Rennes 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2018, Professor Damus was also welcomed to the Americas Chair at Rennes 2 by the LIDILE laboratory. He defines himself as a peasant-researcher. Indeed, he was born in the countryside to illiterate peasant parents. He worked the land as a child and teenager. He studied under the moonlight. He turned his peasant identity into a force for moral and intellectual progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Obrillant DAMUS est professeur titulaire \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 d\u2019\u00c9tat d\u2019Ha\u00efti. Il est \u00e9galement professeur associ\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke-Qu\u00e9bec. Il est membre du comit\u00e9 de supervision des \u00e9tudiants en doctorat du centre d\u2019\u00e9tudes du religieux contemporain de l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Sherbrooke. Il est titulaire d\u2019un master en sciences de l\u2019\u00e9ducation (sp\u00e9cialit\u00e9 \u00e9ducation tout au long de la vie, d\u2019un master en sciences du langage, d\u2019un doctorat en socio-anthropologie, etc. Ses recherches portent sur le handicap, la solidarit\u00e9, la p\u00e9dagogie r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratrice et r\u00e9paratrice, l\u2019\u00e9ducation \u00e0 la conscience mondiale, l\u2019accouchement traditionnel, le viol des femmes, l\u2019allaitement maternel, la m\u00e9decine cr\u00e9ole, etc. Il est auteur et co-auteur de nombreux travaux dont certains ont \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9lectionn\u00e9s et publi\u00e9s par l\u2019UNESCO.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Actuellement, Obrillant Damus professeur invit\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Laval. Il est subventionn\u00e9 par le Fonds de recherche du Qu\u00e9bec (FRQ) et par le Conseil de recherche en sciences humaines du Canada (CRSH). Sa mission consiste \u00e0 enseigner et \u00e0 poursuivre ses activit\u00e9s de recherche sur les femmes au sein de la facult\u00e9 de th\u00e9ologie et de sciences religieuses.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Depuis juillet 2023, il participe au programme M\u00e9moires de guerre et construction p\u00e9renne de la paix (ACE-EPIC), sous la direction de Ren\u00e9e Dickason, professeure \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Rennes 2. En novembre 2024, il sera accueilli \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Rennes 2 comme premier professeur invit\u00e9 sur la chaire internationale Dr Denis Mukwege sur les m\u00e9moires de viols et de violences. Sa candidature a \u00e9t\u00e9 retenue par le Groupement d\u2019Int\u00e9r\u00eat Scientifique (GIS) Institut des Am\u00e9riques, IDA-Rennes, qui g\u00e8re la Chaire des Am\u00e9riques financ\u00e9e par l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Rennes 2.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Le professeur Damus a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 accueilli en 2018 \u00e0 Rennes 2 sur la chaire des Am\u00e9riques par le laboratoire LIDILE. Il se d\u00e9finit comme un paysan-chercheur. En effet, il est n\u00e9 \u00e0 la campagne de parents paysans analphab\u00e8tes. Il travaillait la terre lorsqu\u2019il \u00e9tait enfant et adolescent. Il \u00e9tudiait sous la lumi\u00e8re lunaire.
