With a PhD in Applied Physiology and a background as a data science engineer, his profile combines technical rigour with a commitment to promoting public health. He is currently a member of various international knowledge networks. Titulaire d&#8217;un doctorat en physiologie appliqu\u00e9e et fort d&#8217;une formation d&#8217;ing\u00e9nieur en science des donn\u00e9es, son profil allie rigueur technique et engagement en faveur de la promotion de la sant\u00e9 publique. Il est actuellement membre de divers r\u00e9seaux internationaux de connaissances. Auteur de plus de 300 articles scientifiques publi\u00e9s dans des revues \u00e0 fort impact, son travail s&#8217;inscrit dans la droite ligne de la Chaire UNESCO en favorisant les r\u00e9seaux d&#8217;\u00e9change de connaissances scientifiques et de pratiques \u00e9ducatives entre l&#8217;Am\u00e9rique latine et l&#8217;Europe.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>His mission within the Chair focuses on the integration of disruptive technologies\u2014such as artificial intelligence and bio-inspired optimisation models\u2014to improve health and well-being. In addition to his academic work, he serves as an expert advisor to government bodies and various NGOs. He also has a strong humanitarian commitment as a volunteer with several organisations, building bridges between cutting-edge science and direct social support.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Au sein de la chaire, sa mission consiste principalement \u00e0 int\u00e9grer des technologies de rupture, telles que l&#8217;intelligence artificielle et les mod\u00e8les d&#8217;optimisation bio-inspir\u00e9s, afin d&#8217;am\u00e9liorer la sant\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre. Outre ses activit\u00e9s universitaires, il intervient en tant que conseiller expert aupr\u00e8s d&#8217;organismes gouvernementaux et de diverses ONG. Il fait \u00e9galement preuve d&#8217;un engagement humanitaire fort en tant que b\u00e9n\u00e9vole au sein de plusieurs organisations, jetant ainsi des ponts entre la science de pointe et l&#8217;aide sociale directe.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Notable involvement and achievements in the region<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>In Chile and across the Ibero-American region, Rodrigo leads initiatives aimed at transforming physical education and public health through evidence-based practices. For over 15 years, he has been the research director of the Quintero Physical Fitness Assessment Laboratory (LECOFQ), where they carry out research and intervention projects in an industrial area with high levels of pollution. He currently coordinates the GAC PAQ study in Chile, which seeks to validate the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire for Children and Adolescents; this study involves nearly 20 countries across all continents. He also leads the longitudinal study \u2018Physical fitness, body composition, cognition, well-being and nutrition across the life course in Ibero-America\u2019. These initiatives are directly aligned with UNESCO\u2019s objective of promoting holistic well-being from childhood through to adulthood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>His key activities include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Leadership in Knowledge Networks:<\/strong> As a member of various scientific committees at international events, he facilitates dialogue between global research and local health policies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Innovation in Collective Health:<\/strong> He is currently implementing the &#8220;Social Mirror&#8221; theory and collective intelligence to model how social networks influence physical activity habits in educational settings.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research Excellence:<\/strong> His appointment as a Full Member of SIGMA Xi and his multiple international awards attests to the technical quality he brings to the Chair&#8217;s projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scientific Diplomacy:<\/strong> With over a decade of experience as a researcher and his role as a Scientific Ambassador for the Government of Chile, he articulates cross-sector collaborations between academia, government, and civil society.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>Au Chili et dans toute la r\u00e9gion ib\u00e9ro-am\u00e9ricaine, Rodrigo dirige des initiatives visant \u00e0 transformer l&#8217;\u00e9ducation physique et la sant\u00e9 publique gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des pratiques fond\u00e9es sur des donn\u00e9es probantes. Depuis plus de 15 ans, il est directeur de recherche au Laboratoire d&#8217;\u00e9valuation de la condition physique de Quintero (LECOFQ), o\u00f9 sont men\u00e9s des projets de recherche et d&#8217;intervention dans une zone industrielle fortement pollu\u00e9e. Il coordonne actuellement l&#8217;\u00e9tude GAC PAQ au Chili, qui vise \u00e0 valider le Questionnaire mondial sur l&#8217;activit\u00e9 physique chez les enfants et les adolescents ; cette \u00e9tude implique pr\u00e8s de 20 pays sur tous les continents. Il dirige \u00e9galement l&#8217;\u00e9tude longitudinale \u00ab Condition physique, composition corporelle, cognition, bien-\u00eatre et nutrition tout au long de la vie en Am\u00e9rique latine \u00bb. Jacqueline P\u00e1ez-Herrera<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jacqueline P\u00e1ez Herrera is an academic and researcher at the School of Physical Education at PUCV, where she leads training programs in Motor Development and Learning. As Director of the eFidac research group, her work focuses on designing educational policies that guarantee equitable access and participation for boys and girls in various sports. She is a key figure in the Growing in Motion program, where she advises on the development of motor assessment protocols for children and adolescents, ensuring that national curriculum standards are translated into classroom practices that promote holistic health and an inclusive movement culture. She has held institutional governance positions, such as Director of Inclusion and Vice-Rector of Community Engagement, which has given her a broad perspective on the university and its impact on the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PhD. Juan Hurtado-Almonacid<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Juan Hurtado Almonacid is a specialist in Physical Education Didactics and an academic at the School of Physical Education at PUCV. His work focuses on improving teaching and learning processes in childhood. As a member of the eFidac research group, his thesis and current projects focus on the study of initial physical education teacher training and how early motor development influences students&#8217; well-being. He is an advocate for pedagogical practices that prioritize effective motor engagement, focusing his work on teaching proposals that promote innovation in education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PhD. Tom\u00e1s Reyes-Amigo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tom\u00e1s Reyes Amigo is a tenured academic and researcher at the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at Universidad de Playa Ancha (UPLA), where he leads advanced training programs as Postgraduate Coordinator and Director of the Master&#8217;s in Physical Activity for Human Development. As Director of the Observatory of Physical Activity Sciences, his work focuses on school-based physical activity, specifically in areas such as active breaks and motor engagement. He is a key figure in the <em>EducActivo: School on Movement<\/em> program, serving as the principal investigator of this Fondecyt Initiation project , ensuring that his research translates into classroom practices that promote student movement. His robust academic background, which includes a PhD in Physical Education and Sport from Universidade Lus\u00f3fona and postdoctoral research at the University of Porto, gives him a broad, international perspective on the university&#8217;s role in advancing human development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PhD. Guillermo Cort\u00e9s-Roco<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guillermo Cort\u00e9s Roco is a professor and researcher at the University of Vi\u00f1a del Mar. His research career has focused on projects aimed at promoting health, physical fitness, and motor development among school and community populations. He has led projects focused on comprehensive physical activity among students in public schools in the Valpara\u00edso region and served as a research advisor for the Ministry of Sports\u2019 \u201cCrecer en Movimiento\u201d program, contributing to the design and evaluation of strategies for different stages of child and adolescent development. He participated as a co-investigator in the Ibero-American multicenter project \u201cMental Health and Well-being in University Faculty.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong><em>Dr Jacqueline P\u00e1ez-Herrera<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Jacqueline P\u00e1ez-Herrera est universitaire et chercheuse \u00e0 la Facult\u00e9 d&#8217;\u00e9ducation physique de la PUCV, o\u00f9 elle dirige des programmes de formation en d\u00e9veloppement moteur et en apprentissage. En tant que directrice du groupe de recherche eFidac, ses travaux portent sur la conception de politiques \u00e9ducatives garantissant un acc\u00e8s et une participation \u00e9quitables des gar\u00e7ons et des filles \u00e0 divers sports. Elle a occup\u00e9 des postes de direction au sein de l&#8217;\u00e9tablissement, notamment ceux de directrice de l&#8217;inclusion et de vice-rectrice charg\u00e9e de l&#8217;engagement communautaire, ce qui lui a permis d&#8217;acqu\u00e9rir une vision globale de l&#8217;universit\u00e9 et de son impact sur la communaut\u00e9.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Dr Juan Hurtado-Almonacid<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Juan Hurtado-Almonacid est sp\u00e9cialiste en didactique de l&#8217;\u00e9ducation physique et enseignant \u00e0 la Facult\u00e9 d&#8217;\u00e9ducation physique de la PUCV. Ses travaux portent sur l&#8217;am\u00e9lioration des processus d&#8217;enseignement et d&#8217;apprentissage chez les enfants. En tant que membre du groupe de recherche eFidac, sa th\u00e8se et ses projets actuels portent sur l&#8217;\u00e9tude de la formation initiale des enseignants d&#8217;\u00e9ducation physique et sur la mani\u00e8re dont le d\u00e9veloppement moteur pr\u00e9coce influence le bien-\u00eatre des \u00e9l\u00e8ves. En tant que directeur de l&#8217;Observatoire des sciences de l&#8217;activit\u00e9 physique, ses travaux portent sur l&#8217;activit\u00e9 physique en milieu scolaire, notamment dans des domaines tels que les pauses actives et l&#8217;engagement moteur. Il est une figure cl\u00e9 du programme EducActivo : \u00c9cole du mouvement, en tant que chercheur principal de ce projet d&#8217;initiation Fondecyt, veillant \u00e0 ce que ses recherches se traduisent par des pratiques en classe qui favorisent l&#8217;activit\u00e9 physique des \u00e9l\u00e8ves. Sa solide formation universitaire, qui comprend un doctorat en \u00e9ducation physique et sport de l&#8217;Universidade Lus\u00f3fona et des recherches postdoctorales \u00e0 l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 de Porto, lui conf\u00e8re une perspective large et internationale sur le r\u00f4le de l&#8217;universit\u00e9 dans la promotion du d\u00e9veloppement humain.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Dr Guillermo Cort\u00e9s-Roco<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Guillermo Cort\u00e9s-Roco est professeur et chercheur \u00e0 l&#8217;Universit\u00e9 de Vi\u00f1a del Mar. Sa carri\u00e8re de chercheur s&#8217;est concentr\u00e9e sur des projets visant \u00e0 promouvoir la sant\u00e9, la condition physique et le d\u00e9veloppement moteur aupr\u00e8s des populations scolaires et communautaires. Il a dirig\u00e9 des projets ax\u00e9s sur l&#8217;activit\u00e9 physique globale chez les \u00e9l\u00e8ves des \u00e9coles publiques de la r\u00e9gion de Valpara\u00edso et a occup\u00e9 le poste de conseiller en recherche pour le programme \u00ab Crecer en Movimiento \u00bb du minist\u00e8re des Sports, contribuant \u00e0 la conception et \u00e0 l&#8217;\u00e9valuation de strat\u00e9gies pour les diff\u00e9rentes \u00e9tapes du d\u00e9veloppement des enfants et des adolescents.
