DESCRIPTION:During the third webinar of this thematic network\, the floor will be open to your comments on the draft statement on the importance of climate action through education and training of public health professionals. This draft will be shared on the EU Health Policy Platform a few days in advance of the meeting. To showcase concrete examples\, invited speakers will speak about how their organisation is contributing to climate action. \n\n\n\nTo access the Thematic Network led by ASPHER\, please register first in the EU Health Policy Platform. DESCRIPTION:Positive staff wellbeing can increase productivity and engagement and improve job satisfaction. In the school setting it means that staff are better able to support pupils and each other and to contribute to learning success and educational quality. How can we build a sustainable school culture that keeps staff wellbeing in mind – even in times of uncertainty and rapid changes in policies and expectations. \n\n\n\nWe will explore this field with two expert presentations focusing on the Promotion of occupational well-being in school communities (Terhi Saaranen/Finland) and School staff needs to face the COVID-19 pandemic as a health promoting school (Veronica Velasco/Italy). SUMMARY:Webinar Transitioning to a sustainable food system and delivering on the SDGs - The potential of school meals
DESCRIPTION:EURAGRI and CIRAD invite you to join the online webinar “Transitioning to a sustainable food system and delivering on the SDGs – The potential of school meals” on 21 March 2022 from 14.00 – 16.30 CET. \n\n\n\nThe first United Nations Summit on Food Systems (UNFSS) took place in 2021. It addresses food security and food systems’ sustainability and their contribution to achieve the SDG’s. These issues are widely recognised to be among the most significant challenges humanity is facing today together with associated issues such as climate change and biodiversity loss. \n\n\n\nMany people lack access to sufficient\, safe\, and nutritious food. Furthermore\, food has enormous social\, cultural and political significance influencing how policies are formulated and how pathways to a more just and sustainable food system are identified. \n\n\n\nIn preparation of and during the summit\, actors at many levels\, government representatives\, civil society\, the research community\, and the private sector\, engaged in discussions which resulted in several coalitions. Among them the “School Meals Coalition: Nutrition\, Health and Education for Every Child” was established\, and actively supported by most states. It is accompanied by a Global Research Consortium for School Health and Nutrition led by Professor Donald Bundy (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine). \n\n\n\nThis coalition approach is of great interest to develop best practices concerning transformational research and systematic evaluation of the impact of interventions to achieve transformation. \n\n\n\nDownload the programme here
