Higher education institutions are an important stakeholder sharing the responsibility of the entire international community for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in the 2030 Agenda.
Every year, the high-level political forum on Sustainable development presents voluntary reviews of progress made at the country level in order to improve the quality of decisions taken and to develop more effective policies in the field of sustainable development. Kazakhstan has made long-term commitments to achieve carbon neutrality
For the timely implementation of the planned SDGs, Kazakhstan and other countries of the world need highly qualified specialists, managers and researchers in the field of advanced technologies, the high-quality training of which should be undertaken (provided) by Universities.
The purpose of the webinar is to:
- assess the contribution of Universities to the achievement of the SDGs;
- strengthen collaboration by bringing together the experience of practitioners in the field of SDGs; and
- promote new initiatives that drive change.
In the process of discussing the role of Universities in the implementation of the SDGs, issues of cooperation will be considered in such areas as the inclusion of the SDGs in the pedagogical and scientific activities of teachers, the introduction of the SDGs into internal management, culture and university management in general, and the development of youth leadership potential in the implementation of the SDGs.
