Post-Doctoral Fellowship vacancy at the School of Public Health of the University of São Paulo

There is need to understand how urban young people have adapted during the Covid-19 pandemic and to assess the wider impact of such processes. The PANEX-YOUTH Project, a cooperation between Brazil-UK-South Africa, seeks to use an action research to co-create this knowledge about such adaptations and generate wider recommendations, with young people, and the vulnerable communities in which they live, and non-governmental bodies and non-profit organisations that focus on this age group.

Desired profile

  • Experiences/background in social sciences; interdisciplinary research with youth, health, environment and urban sustainability
  • Experience in qualitative/participatory community-based research
  • Experience with international staff
  • Fluency and writing in Portuguese and English
  • PhD completed less than seven years ago.

The position is open for candidates of any nationality. The FAPESP fellowship will provide a monthly grant of BRL 8,479.20 for 20 months, and a research contingency fund equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship for expenses directly related to research activities.
