What COVID-19 is teaching us about inequality and the sustainability of our health systems

EuroHealthNet has published an article about COVID-19 exposing the existing and persisting health inequalities in our societies. People living in deprivation or facing difficult socio-economic circumstances will experience the heaviest impact of the pandemic. COVID-19 makes clear how important it is to invest in prevention and health promotion, as well as in the wider health workforce, tackling avoidable health inequalities, and boosting health literacy. In the long term, we must consider how our health systems are structured, their sustainability, and their ability to protect all in times of crisis.
